Less than two months after the Xperia XZ2 made its debut at the MWC 2018, Sony Mobiles has unveiled the latest member of the Xperia XZ2 series family. The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has the same design as the Xperia XZ2 and also based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core mobile platform.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium comes equipped a Motion Eye dual camera setup that includes a 19MP primary camera with 1/ 2.3″ Exmor RS memory stacked sensor, f/1.8 lens and 1.22μm pixel size, along with a secondary 12MP monochrome camera with f/1.6 lens and 1.55μm pixel size.
The cameras are processed by the AUBE™ fusion image signal processor in real time to enable video recording with up to ISO12800 maximum sensitivity and capture images with ISO51200 sensitivity. Like the cameras on the Xperia Z2, they also support 960fps Super slow motion in HD or Full HD. The front snapper is a 13MP camera with 1/3.06” Exmor RS sensor, f/2.0 aperture and display flash for better selfies.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium sports a 5.8-inch 4K (2160 x 3840) Triluminos HDR display with 16:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It measures 158 x 80 x 11.9 mm, weighs 236 grams, boots Android Oreo OS and arrives in Chrome Black and Chrome Silver colour options.
The smartphone packs 6GB of RAM, 64GB built-in storge space (expandable up to 400GB via microSD), USB 3.1 Type-C, front facing stereo speakers with S-Force Front Surround, rear fingerprint sensor and depends on a 3540mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology, Quick Charge 3.0 and Qi Wireless charging support. It will be available globally from Summer 2018.
