Alongside the Moto G6 Series, Motorola also announced the Moto E5 family which comprises of the Moto E5 Plus, Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus. Like the G6 series, the trio boot Android 8.0 Oreo OS and feature 18:9 fullscreen displays (E5 and E5 Plus), fingerprint sensor and AI-based Moto Experiences.
Moto E5 Plus
The biggest of the trio, the Moto E5 Plus sports a 5.99-inch HD+ 18:9 IPS display, either 2GB RAM with 16GB storage or 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and microSD card slot (accepts up to 128GB). It relies on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425 Mobile Platform and boots Android Oreo OS.
Photography is handled by a single 12MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.25um pixel size, Laser AutoFocus and PDAF, alongside a front facing 5MP camera with LED flash for selfies. Power is supplies by a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging.

Moto E5 Play
The Moto E5 Play is the smallest and cheapest of the trio. It has a basic 5.2-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, rear 8MP (f/2.0) camera with LED flash, front facing 5MP camera with LED flash, fingerprint sensor, Water repellent coating (p2i) and a 2,800mAH battery.
On the inside, the smartphone is powered by either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 / 427 mobile platform paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage (expandable up to 128Gb via microSD).

Pricing and Availability
- The Moto E5 Play will be available in Black, Dark Lake and Flash Gray colours; and roll out over the coming months to North America.
- The Moto E5 (Flash Gray and Flash Gold colours) and Moto E5 Plus (Black, Fine Gold, Flash gray and Mineral blue colours) are priced starting at €UR 149 and €UR 169 respectively. They will roll out over the coming months in various markets in Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America.
