Alongside the Honor 10, Huawei has announced the first notebook under its cost-friendly Honor brand – the Honor MagicBook. Like the Huawei MateBook X Pro, the MagicBook takes its design inspiration from the Apple Macbook series and is powered by Intel’s 8th Gen Core (i5-8250U and i7-8550U) processors.
The Honor MagicBook has a 14-inch IPS LCD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) resolution, 5.2mm narrow bezels and 81% screen-to-body ratio. It sports an all-metal body build which comes in Glacier Silver, Nebula Purple and Starry Ash colours; full-size QWERTY keyboard, custom made fans to keep the heat down and a 57.4Wh battery that delivers up to 12 hours of native video playback.
The MagicBook packs 8GB of RAM, 256GB PCIe SSD, dedicated 2GB DDR5 NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics, four speakers with support for Dolby Atmos sound system and dua mics, 1x USB Type-C, 1x USB 3.0 (Type A), 1x USB 2.0 (Type A), HDMI, 3.5mm audio jack, built-in 2 x 2 MIMO dual-antenna Wi-Fi and 1MP HD webcam.
The fingerprint sensor can be access from the keyboard and the Magic Link app allows Honor smartphones to connect with the Honor MagicBook. The Core i5 model costs CNY 4,999 (USD 793) and CNY5,699 (USD 904) for the Core i7 model. Both options are China-exclusive and goes on sale starting today (April 23rd).
