Motorola Debuts the Moto Z3 and 5G Moto Mod, Coming To Verizon Soon

Weeks after the launch of the Moto Z3 Play with dual rear cameras and extra battery pack, Motorola has added the Moto Z3 flagship to the series. It is making its debut alongside the 5G Moto Mod, which grants the device access to Verizon’s 5G Network when it launches in 2019.

When paired with the 5G Moto Mod, the Motorola ‎Moto Z3 becomes the world’s 5G-upgradable phone. The Mod has a built-in 2,000mAh battery and is equipped with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon X50 modem and millimeter wave components.

The smartphone is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core mobile platform paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB built-in expandable storage. It sports an aircraft-grade 6000 series aluminium body frame and a 6-inch Max Vision Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front and back.

For photography, the device features a front facing 8MP (f/2.0, 1.12um)‎ camera with screen flash and 84-degree wide angle lens. The main camera setup includes dual 12MP (‎f/2.0, 1.25um, ZSL, pDAF) cameras ‎- one with RGB and the other for Monochrome.

The device has water repellent nano-coating, side-mounted fingerprint sensor and supports face unlock, Moto Voice, Moto Display and Moto Actions. It also features a USB Type-C port (audio and charging), boots Android 8.1 Oreo OS and depends on a 3,000mAh battery with Turbo charging.

The Moto Z3 will be available in the U.S exclusively through Verizon starting on August 16 at US$ 20 a month for 24 months on Verizon device payment or $480 on retail. The 5G Mod will be available in the US exclusively in early 2019.
