At its recently concluded Galaxy Unpacked 2018 event in Brooklyn, New York, Samsung quietly unveiled its new Wireless Charger Duo, a wireless charging pad capable of charging two devices simultaneously, alongside the Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy Home smart speaker and Galaxy Watch.
Samsung’s Wireless Charger Duo has two charging spots – one with a circular stand to hold a charging phone upright and the other with a flat surface to charge a smartwatch or phone. Each spot supports up to 7.5W Fast Charge wireless charging output and 12 V/2.1A input via a single USB-C port on the back.
It has two LED light indicators and a built-in fan to keep the device cool. It is also Qi compatible which means it can charge other Qi-certified products such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8, Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone X. The Samsung Wireless Charger Duo is available to order on Samung.com in Black and White colours for a price tag starting at US$ 119.99.
For comparisons sake, Apple’s upcoming AirPower wireless charging mat will be able to charge three devices (think iPhones, iPad and AirPods) simultaneously. Once any of these aforementioned device is placed on the pad, it automatically supplies each device with the right amount of charge.
