Alongside the Honor 8X and 8X Max, Huawei’s Honor also introduced the Honor Band 4 and a toned down variant called the Honor Band 4 Running Edition. Both models of the fitness band will go on sale in China from September 20 and there are multiple colour options to choose from.

Sporting the same design as its predecessor, the Honor Band 4 has a 0.95-inch AMOLED touch screen colour display with 2.5D curved glass along with a home button and a 100mAh battery, which is stated to last up to 6 days of battery life with continuous heart rate measurement.

The band uses Huawei’s TruSeen 2.0 heart rate feature which offers continuous heart monitoring when running, walking, cycling and more. It connects via Bluetooth 4.2 and pairs with mobile devices using the Huawei Health app. It is water resistant up to 50 metres and comes with NFC support for payments.

The Running Edition comes with a monochrome POLED display and a tad smaller 77mAh battery, which lasts up to 20 days on standby. It doesn’t feature the heart rate sensor but offers improved data like running detection like cadence, step length, ground contact and foot strike pattern.
