Sony confirms the whole Xperia Z Line Would Get The Android 5.0 Lollipop

Google announced the Android 5.0 Lollipop alongside the Nexus devices – Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Nexus player. Previously just known as the Android L, different Android Smartphone makers would be would be rolling out the Lollipop to its devices soon. Sony has announced that the whole Xperia Z line of device would be getting the Android soon.

According to Sony, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update would arrive on the entire Xperia Z line – the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

However, the the Sony Z Ultra Google Play edition would get the latest Android update in coming weeks. Other device listed above would be getting the update by early 2015 staring with the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 series. Google is said to be putting finishing touches on the Android 5.0 Lollipop and it would debut on November 3rd alongside the Nexus 9.

Meanwhile, HTC this week has announced that the HTC One M8 and M7 would be getting the update within 90days of receiving the final software from Google. Other HTC One family and select HTC devices would be getting the shortly after.

Motorola on the other hand has already announced that the Moto X and Moto G (Gen 1 and Gen 2), Moto G LTE, Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini.
