Nubia unveiled its second gaming-focused smartphone – the Nubia Red Magic Mars at the Shanghain VSPN e-Sports Center in China. The flagship-level smartphone has the same 6-inch (2160 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+ 18:9 display and the same 3,800mAh battery charges via USB-C.
The Nubia Red Magic Mars is now equipped with both air and liquid cooling to reduce the temperature during intense operations by up to 13.2-degrees and improve CPU performance by up to 70-percent. The diamond shaped openings at the back are there to help with ventilation.
The phone has two capacitive shoulder buttons for additional controls during gaming and an optional gamepad attachment. It uses a linear motor to create “4D Shock” haptic feedback, stereo speakers with DTS 7.1 audio + 3D surround sound for premium-level audio and the metal back shell has a unique RGB LED light effects for different usage scenarios.
The Red Magic Mars has a dedicated button for eSports that bars out all distractions like notifications. For photography, there is a rear facing 16MP (f/1.8) with PDAF and dual-tone LED flash; and a front facing 8MP (f/2.0) camera with wide-angle lens and support for face unlock.
Internally, the gaming flagship is backed by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 mobile platform and available in three RAM and Storage options: 6GB + 64GB (CNY 2,699), 8GB + 128GB (CNY 3,199) and 10GB + 256GB (CNY 3,999). It runs Android 9.0 Pie with Red Magic OS 1.6 on top.
The Nubia Red Magic Mars comes in Black and Flame Red colours for the 6GB and 8GB RAM models; and Camouflage for the 10GB RAM model. It will go on sale in China starting December 7.
