Mid Range Samsung Galaxy Core Max Shows Up in China

In what looks like another quiet listing, Samsung has put up the Galaxy Core Max on its China website. The Samsung Galaxy Core Max (model no – SM-G5108) is a another basic mid-range device with Dual-SIM functionality, 4G LTE connectivity but looks bigger than the normal Galaxy core family.

The listing suggests the Samsung Galaxy Core Max would run on a Dual-Core processor (unnamed chipset) clocking at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and a microSD card for expansion (up to 64GB).

The device also packs 4.8-inch qHD (540 x 960 pixels) Super AMOLED display, 8MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies and video chats. Connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy Core Max includes – Micro-USB, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm audio jack, 3G, 4G LTE, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi.

The device measures 136.3 x 69.6 x 8mm, weighs 132grams, runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with TouchWiz UI ontop and a 2200mAh battery powers the device.

There is no word on pricing and availability of the Samsung Galaxy Core Max yet in China or other Global markets.

Yesterday, Samsung also quietly listed another variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Galaxy S5 Plus in the Netherlands. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus is more like the European version of the Galaxy S5 4G+ which debuted in Singapore in August.

Both devices come with a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC and LTE Cat.6 (up to 300Mbps) unlike the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Soc and LTE Cat.4 on the Galaxy S5.
