Samsung Electronics has introduced a new premium tablet called the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e (SM-T725). It is currently the thinnest (5 mm) and lightest (400 grams) tablet in the brand’s Galaxy Tab portfolio – and even lighter than the 11-inch iPad Pro (5.9 mm, 468 grams).
It is the first tablet from Samsung to come pre-loaded with Android 9.0 Pie and feature Samsung’s virtual assistant – Bixby 2.0. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 octa-core processor paired with 4/6GB of RAM and 64/128GB built-in storage (expandable up to 512GB).
Made for connectivity and entertainment, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e has a large 10.5-inch ‘Edge to Edge’ Super AMOLED display with WQXGA resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, 81.8% screen-to-body ratio, quad-stereo speakers tuned by AKG by HARMAN and Dolby Atmos.
The tablet also has a single 13MP (f/2.0) rear camera with LED flash, front facing 5MP (f/2.0) camera, USB 3,1 (Type-C), Pogo Pin, Bluetooth 5 and a 7,040mAh battery with support for fast charging that lasts up to 14.5 hours of battery life. It comes with YouTube Premium service (free for up to 4 months), three months of Spotify premium, face recognition and fingerprint scanning.
Like the Galaxy Note 9 and Tab S4, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e is compatible with the Samsung DeX. The 4GB + 64GB Wi-Fi only model will arrive in Q2 2019 in for a price tag starting at $399.99 in the U.S, Germany and other countries. The 4G LTE model will cost EUR 479 in Europe.
