Recap: HTC 5G Hub Brings 5G To Homes And Workplaces

While other top phone makers released their first 5G smartphones at the MWC 2019, HTC took the chance to unveil a first-of-its-kind dedicated 5G mobile smart hub – the HTC 5G Hub. It is scheduled to be available through select retail outlets from Q2 2019 with carrier support starting with Deutsche Telekom, EE, Elisa, Sprint, Sunrise, Telstra and Three UK.

Like all the 5G phones unveiled at the MWC 2019, the Android-Powered HTC 5G Hub is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform with Snapdragon X50 modem. It offers 5G connectivity (4G in areas without 5G coverage) for use in homes and workplaces and serve as an entertainment hub with Google Assistant voice control onboard.

It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD touchscreen display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage, stereo speakers, USB Type-C port, microSD card slot, Bluetooth 5.0 and built-in corporate VPN. It allows up to 20 devices connect over Wi-Fi Hotspot and feature Ethernet port for wired connections. The 5G Hub supports 4k video streaming and the 7,660mAh battery on-board lasts up to a full day of usage.
