Meizu 16s Unveiled: Snapdragon 855, In-display Fingerprint Sensor, Flyme OS 8

Meizu has unveiled its latest flagship – the Meizu 16s at a launch event in China. The device is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 7nm octa-core mobile platform – the same processor used on the Samsung Galaxy S10/Galaxy S10 5G, Huawei P30 Pro, Lenovo Z6 Pro and Vivo iQOO but comes pre-loaded with Flyme OS 8 (based on Android 9 Pie with One Mind 3.0 AI)

The Meizu 16s has a 6.2-inch FHD+ 18.6:9 Super AMOLED display with 91.53% screen-to-body ratio and 500 nits brightness. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, front 20MP selfie camera with AI beauty features and a primary 48MP (f/1.7) camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, night mode and OIS paired with a secondary 20MP (f/2.2) telephoto lens with Sony IMX350 sensor.

The smartphone packs either 6GB/8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB built-in storage, USB Type-C port (audio & port) and a 3,600mAh battery with 24W mCharge fast charger. It features mEngine 3.0 for smoother graphics, improved vibration and tactile experience, Hyper Gaming mode and optional USB Type-C to 3.5mm converter with Cirrus Logic CS43131 Hi-Fi DAC for high quality audio experiences.

The Meizu 16s will go on sale starting April 28th and arrives in Carbon Black, Phantom Blue and White colours. The 6GB RAM/128GB storage model is priced at CNY 3,398; 8GB RAM/128GB storage model cost CNY 3,698 and the 8GB RAM/256GB storage model sells from CNY 4,198.
