Weeks ago, OPPO unveiled its long-teased Reno-branded smartphones – the OPPO Reno and OPPO Reno 10x Zoom at an event in Beijing, China. Both models have a 16MP (f/2.0) sharkfin pop-up selfie camera with LED flash, in-display fingerprint sensor, NFC, USB OTG and come pre-loaded with ColorOS 6 (based on Android 9 Pie) with features such as Game Boost 2.0.
OPPO Reno 10x Zoom
The highlight of the Reno 10x Zoom is the tri-lens setup which includes a 48MP (f/1.7) main camera with AI Portrait and Sony IMX586 sensor paired with 8MP (f/2.2) wide-angle camera with 120-degree lens and 13MP (f/3.0) periscope camera with 10x hybrid zoom. All three have Dual OIS, Laser AutoFocus and features such as Dazzle Color Mode and Ultra Night Mode 2.0 feature to capture pictures in low-light conditions.
The smartphone has a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection, 93.1% screen-to-body ratio, HDR 10 support and TÜV Rheinland certification for eye protection. It is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB (UFS 2.1) storage. Other features include Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, dual band GPS, Dolby Atmos sound and 4,065mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging technology.
OPPO Reno
Based on the slightly less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 mobile platform, the OPPO Reno has a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It has a 48MP (f/1.7) + 5MP (f/2.4) dual rear cameras, 3.5mm headphone jack and 3,700mAh battery with 18W fast charger.
Pricing and Availability
The OPPO Reno and Reno 10x Zoom are on sale in China and come in different colour choices including Jet Black, Mist Pink, Nebula Purple, Night Black and Ocean Green. OPPO will also release a 5G version of the Reno series soon.
