Huawei P Smart Z Launched with 16MP Pop-Up Selfie Camera

Following the launch of the Huawei P Smart+ 2019, the Chinese company has quietly unveiled a new mid-range smartphone – the Huawei P Smart Z in Europe. The highlight is the 16MP (f/2.0) pop-up selfie camera with 2D face unlock and a mechanical system which has been tested with up to 12kg of pressure and with over 100,000 times for durability.

The Huawei P Smart Z is equipped with 16MP (f/1.8) + 2MP (f/2.4) dual rear cameras with AI portraits and AI scene detection, rear fingerprint sensor, hybrid dual SIM slots, NFC and USB Type-C 2.0 port. It sports a 6.59-inch FHD+ Ultra FullView display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 4GB of RAM, 64GB built-in expandable storage and depends on a long-lasting 4,000mAh battery.

Internally, the device comes preloaded with EMUI 9.0 (based on Android 9 Pie) and the Kirin 710F octa-core processor is paired with support for GPU Turbo 2.0. It is already available in Italy for EUR 279 and is expected to roll out in various markets in Europe including Spain. All markets will get any or all the Emerald Green, Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue colour choices.

The Huawei P Smart Z is expected to slot in beside the EUR 279-priced P Smart+ 2019 released in March. It arrived with the same 6.21-inch FHD+ display, metal body frame and glass back with gradient finish, Kirin 710 octa-core SoC and 8MP AI selfie camera in the waterdrop notch as the Huawei P Smart 2019 but adds a triple rear camera setup which consists of 24MP + 2MP + 16MP sensors.
