Microsoft Band announced with Microsoft Health Platform, Ten Sensors and $199 price tag

The Microsoft Band has gone official with ten smart sensor including a UV sensor for sun exposure and galvanic skin response measurement. Asides that, it also offers heart rate monitoring, fitness tracking, sleep quality tracking amongst others. The device show notifications for your including incoming calls, emails, texts as well as access to Cortana.

The fitness band tracker was announced alongside the new Microsoft Health Platform and is compatible with iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices.

The Microsoft Health Platform is a cloud based service which stores health and fitness data provided by consumers and manufacturers from different health and fitness service in one location. The APIs is open for startups; has the option to connect Microsoft Health data to the HealthVault to share with medical providers. The Microsoft Health will also work with UP by Jawbone, MapMyFitness, MyFitnessPal and RunKeeper.

The Microsoft Health app is also available for Android, iOS and Windows Phone platforms. The Microsoft Band would go on sale in the US in limited quantities from the MicrosoftStore.com for $199 and would be available in Microsoft Stores starting today, October 30th. There is no word if the device would be available internationally.
