Sony Xperia 5 II Debuts with 120Hz Display, 5G Connectivity

Sony Mobiles has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone yet – the Sony Xperia 5 II. It is the second smartphone from the company with 5G connectivity due to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G mobile platform on board. It also dons the familiar design language as other Xperia smartphones and will come preloaded with Android 10 OS.

The Xperia 5 II has a 6.1-inch FHD+ HDR OLED display with 21:9 CinemaWide aspect ratio, 120Hz Refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, aluminium body frame and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection on the front and back. It is equipped with a triple camera setup with ZEISS optics and Real-time Eye AF which comprises of a 12MP (f/1.7, 16mm focal length) main, 12MP (f/2.4, 24mm focal length) telephoto for 3x optical zoom and 12MP (f/2.2, 70mm focal length) ultra-wide-angle sensors.

The rest of the specs include front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound, 3.5mm audio jack, 8MP (f/2.0) selfie camera, IP65/68 water resistance rating, and 4,000mAh battery with 21W fast charging. For a price tag starting at EUR 899/ GBP 799, the Sony Xperia 5 II will arrive in two memory configurations: 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. Sales is slated to commence in Autumn 2020 and there are three colours to choose from: Black, Blue, and Grey.
