Tecno Mobiles has commenced sales of its latest camera-centric smartphone – the Tecno Camon 16 Premier in various markets in Africa including Nigeria and Kenya. The Premier is currently priced starting at NGN 115,800 and Ksh 28,999 (RRP) in the above-mentioned markets and several outlets in Nigeria are offering the HiPods H2 wireless earbuds for only NGN 9,300.
The Camon 16 Premier precedes the launch of the Tecno Camon 16 and Tecno Camon 16 Pro, which are expected to go official soon. The trio feature quad-rear and dual front camera setups. On the inside, it is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage. It comes pre-installed HiOS 7.0 (based on Android 10) and depend on a 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The phone charges from 0 to 70 percent in 30 minutes and utilises its heat dissipation pipe to keep the temperature down during charging.
The rear setup includes the primary 64MP (f/1.89, 0.8um pixel, 6P lens, 79.8O FOV) Sony IMX686 RGB sensor. This is paired with an 8MP (f/2.25, 1.12um pixel, 119O FOV) super wide angle/ macro lens, 2MP (f/2.4, 1.75um pixel, 88.9O FOV) depth control lens and 2MP (f/1.8, 2.8um pixel, 73.9O FOV) lens. The whole setup uses the five rear flash and TAIVOS (TECNO AI Vision Optimization Solution) for AI Beautification 4.0, AI scene recognition 3.0 and others.
The front dual camera setup includes a 48MP (f/2.2, 0.8um pixel, 88.1O FOV) lens paired with an 8MP (f/2.2, 1.12um pixel, 105O FOV) wide-angle selfie lens and adjustable dual front flash. The phone has a 6.9-inch FHD+ Dot-in display with 90Hz refresh rate and side-placed fingerprint sensor.
