Redmi K30S – Xiaomi’s Modified Mi 10T For The Chinese Market

Under its popular Redmi sub-brand, Xiaomi has taken the wraps off the Redmi K30S. This model is a modified version of the Xiaomi Mi 10T as some of the specs has been modified for the Chinese market. It is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 mobile platform with Snapdragon X55 Modem for 5G (SA/NSA) connectivity, paired with 8GB LPPDDR5 RAM and either 128GB or 256GB (UFS 3.1) storage.

The K30S has a 6.67-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with 144Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10 support, and side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The flat display also has AdaptiveSync technology for variable refresh rate from 30Hz to 144Hz, MEMC motion compensation technology, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 20MP (f/2.2) selfie camera in the top-left punch hole notch.

Photography is handled by a triple rear camera setup headed by a 64MP (f/1.89) main camera with Sony IMX682 sensor and LED flash. The setup is paired with a 13MP (f/2.4, 123°) ultra-wide-angle and 5MP (2cm-10cm, f/2.4) macro lens. The setup also supports 8K video recording. The rest of the specs include USB Type-C (audio and port), stereo speakers, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging (goes from 0 to 100% in 1 hr).

The Redmi K30S is already available for pre-order and will go on sale starting November 1. The 128GB storage version costs CNY 2,599 (~USD 367, EUR 329) while the 256GB storage version costs CNY 2,799 (~USD 416, EUR 354). The phones will be available for a CNY 300 discount during the Single’s Day sale on November 11.
