Huawei has taken the wraps off the latest Nova branded smartphone series – the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro in China. Both models are based on the Huawei Kirin 985 5G SoC (1x Cortex-A76 cores @ 2.56GHz + 3x Cortex-A76 @ 2.4GHz + 4x Cortex-A55 @ 1.84GHz) with Mali-G77 GPU and dual core NPU AI unit. They also come pre-loaded with EMUI 11 (based on Android 10) and Huawei Mobile Services (HMS).
The Huawei Nova 8 packs a 6.57-inch FHD+ OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, in-display fingerprint sensor, 32MP selfie camera in the punch-hole, USB Type-C port, and 3,800mAh battery with 65W fast charging. On the rear, there is a quad-camera setup with a primary 64MP lens paired with 8MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP depth lens and 2MP macro lens. It is available in either 128GB or 256GB storage with 8GB of RAM and four colour choices: Black, Green, Purple and Silver.
The Nova 8 Pro has a curved 6.72-inch FHD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 32MP + 16MP dual front cameras and depends on a bigger 4,000mAh battery with the same fast charging support. Asides these, the rest of the specs are the same as the non-pro model. They are also available in either 128GB or 256GB storage with 8GB of RAM.
