Following the recent announcement of the Samsung Galaxy F62 smartphone with 7,000mAh battery in India, the company has announced yet another power-centric smartphone called the Samsung Galaxy A12. The successor to last year’s Galaxy A11, is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) octa-core processor and backed by a long-lasting 5,000mAh battery with 15W adaptive fast charging.
The Samsung Galaxy A12 is fitted with a 6.5-inch (720 x 1600 pixels) HD+ PLS TFT LCD display (Infinity-V) with 20:9 aspect ratio, 8MP (f/2.2) selfie camera with Live Focus in the waterdrop notch, USB Type-C port, fingerprint sensor (side), 3.5mm stereo jack and microSD card slot that supports up to 1TB cards. Photography is handled by a quad rear camera setup made up of a 48MP (f/2.0) ISOCELL GM2 primary snapper paired with 5MP (f/2.2, 123-degree FOV) ultra-wide, 2MP (f/2.4) depth and 2MP (f/2.4) macro sensors.
The phone itself comes preloaded with Samsung’s One UI 2.5 (based on the now dated Android 10) and available in three colour choices – Black, Blue, and White. The basic model (4GB RAM + 64GB storage) costs INR 12,999 while the higher model (4GB RAM + 128GB storage) costs INR 13,999. It is available from Samsung.com, and across online and offline retail stores in India, and there are a number of discount offers for customers to choose from.
