Toshiba Portege Z20t Laptop-Tablet Hybrid Set for Q1 2015 Debut

Toshiba last month announced a new laptop-tablet hybrid device which is aimed at professional users. The Toshiba Portege Z20t as it is known is a 12.5-inch display sized tablet with a detachable and reversible keyboard power dock which makes it usable as a laptop.

Talking about the specs, the Toshiba Portege Z20t features a 12.5 inch 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS capacitive touchscreen display with an optional support for a Wacom digitizer.

The tablet is powered by an Intel Core M processor with Intel HD 5300 graphics with up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of solid state storage. It also has 8 hours of battery life, micro USB port, a microSD card slot, micro HDMI port and headset jack.

Once the laptop dock is attached, the Portégé Z20t adds a full keyboard and touchpad; VGA, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, optional mobile broadband, a full-sized HDMI port, 2 USB 3.0 ports and a front facing 5MP Webcam. It also comes with an extra battery which is said to get twice as much run time when using in laptop mode (16 hours max).

The Toshiba Portégé Z20t when in tablet form measures 309 x 199 x 8.8mm and weighs 816grams while the laptop form measures 309 x 215 x 21mm and weighs 1.59kg. It runs on Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro OS and comes with a host of features aimed at Enterprise such as the Toshiba’s EasyGuard suite, Intel Active Management Technology and Windows
Management Instrumentation.

Though there is no pricing details yet but users in the UK would get the device by Q1 2015.
