Acer Aspire Switch 12 5-in-1 Hybrid set for Q1 2015

Both the Acer Aspire Switch 10 and Aspire Switch 11 debuted at the IFA 2014 in September and it is looking likely that another variant of the Aspire Switch series is set to debut early next year. The Acer Aspire Switch 12 as it is known is an hybrid Laptop-Tablet device which comes with detachable magnetic keyboard and could be use in five different modes.

The Aspire Switch 12 is usable in five different modes – as a notebook, tablet, display, tent or desktop. It also comes with major improvements over other devices in its series as the base unit & the keyboard can be further separated, a direct wireless bluetooth keyboard application and finally it is powered by Intel Core M processors.

Asides from the 12.5-inch 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, full fit Zero Air Gap technology and 10 point multitouch capability. It relies on the Intel Core M-5Y10a processor with built-in Intel HD graphics 5300 graphics chip, 4GB of RAM, 128 GB hard drive and runs on Windows 8.1 operating system.

Talking about the ports, the Acer Aspire Switch 12 has a microUSB 3.0, micro HDMI port, no microSD card slot, power jack, volume control key and the windows key. There is also support for Acer Active pen which comes handy when taking notes or drawing.

The asking price for the device is unconfirmed to be around CNY ¥28900 and is expected to be in stores by Q1 2015.
