Alongside the new Galaxy Watch 5 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, Samsung unleased the successor to the original Galaxy Buds Pro earbuds at Galaxy Unpacked 2022. The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro joins the company’s growing line of noise-cancelling true wireless earbuds. It is available for pre-order in Bora Purple, Graphite and White colours from $230 (A$ 349).
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is equipped with 2-way speakers, three microphones, and improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) – 40% better than the previous model. It retains the same egg-shape as the Buds Pro; however, the size has shrunk by 15% and airflow has improved. It is rated IPX7 (water resistance) for protection against drips, spills and water.
The sides remain the touch panels for activating ANC and general playback features. Users can choose from immersive wireless Hi-Fi 24bit Audio (High Fidelity sound), voice detection, ambient mode, and intelligent 360 audio (cue Apple’s Spatial audio), for a well-rounded, cinematic experience. Samsung Galaxy users get additional extras such as Easy Pair, Auto Switch, and SmartThings Find. The earbuds last up to five (5) hours of continuous playback with ANC on and eight (8) hours without. The battery life can be extended up to 18 hours (ANC on) or 29 hours (ANC off) with the wireless charging case.
