Vertu Metavertu is The World’s first WEB3 Phone

Luxury smartphone brand, Vertu has unveiled what it calls the world’s first Web3.0-enabled smartphone – Vertu Metavertu. The smartphone, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, can easily switch between Web2.0 (Android OS) and Web3.0 modes with a single click. Web3 mode allows the device to create NFTs and offer blockchain infrastructure services.

According to the company, Metavertu is based on the concept of CNCOS – a “5-dimensional integrated ecosystem,” combining chips, smart terminals, blockchain, OS, and services into a single mobile handset. It comes with a built-in A5 privacy chip to secure the user’s digital wallet and assets; and supports both encrypted instant messaging and decentralized apps.

The device is available in a variety of the brand’s signature shell finishes from basic carbon fiber to several luxury leather options including Calf Leather Caramel Brown, Alligator Leather Flame Red, and Himalaya Alligator Leather 18k Gold & Diamonds. Most of the specs are the same as that of the nubia Z40 Pro and Z40 Pro Gravity Edition including its triple camera system with 64MP Humanity camera (Sony IMX787, OIS), 50MP wide-angle camera and 8MP (OIS) Periscope cameras.

The device packs a 6.67-inch FHD+ Fluid AMOLED curved display with 144Hz adaptive refresh rate and 1000 nits’ peak brightness. It also features an under-display fingerprint sensor, 16MP (f/2.5) selfie camera in the front punch-hole notch, and 4,600mAh battery with 55W fast charging and 15W wireless charging. The rest includes up to 18GB RAM, up to 10TB of storage space, USB-C 3.1 port, 9-layer heat dissipation system, and 5G connectivity. Pricing starts at US$ 3,350 (AU$ 5,006) and goes up to US$ 41,500 (AU$ 62,018).
