We are few days away from Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event for the next-gen Galaxy S series smartphones. The South Korean company is expected to shed light on the Samsung Galaxy S23 series smartphones – the Galaxy S3, Galaxy S3+ and Galaxy S3 Ultra on February 1. There could be other potential product releases including a new smartwatch or earbuds.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023 will happen in-person for the first time in three years. The event will take place in San Francisco, starting at 10 AM PST (6PM GMT | 5AM AEST, Feb 2). It will also be available to stream directly from Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom and YouTube.
Various sources confirm all three devices in the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform. The Galaxy S23 has a 6.1-inch 1080p display and 3,900mAh battery with 25W charging; the Galaxy S23+ has a 6.6-inch 1080p display and 4,700mAh battery with 45W charging; and the Galaxy S23 Ultra has a 6.8-inch 1440p display and 5000mAh battery with 45W charging. There is Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on all the models.
The Galaxy S23 and S23+ have the same camera setup as their predecessor – the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ while the Galaxy S23 Ultra reportedly has a 200MP main camera with 12MP ultra wide-angle, 10MP telephoto lens and 10MP periscope telephoto lens. Any of the models can be customised with 8 – 12GB of RAM and 256GB – 1TB of internal storage. The rest of the specs include under-screen fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth 5.3, IP68 rating, and USB-C.
