Acer has unveiled its first Chrome OS laptop and what is currently the biggest screen Chrome OS laptop of the moment with its 15.6-inch HD display ahead of the CES 2015. As mentioned earlier, the Acer Chromebook 15 is the first chromebook from any manufacturer to feature a 15.6-inch screen. It would be powered by Intel’s new fifth-generation core i3 or Celeron processor. The chromebook offers up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Memory and storage options on the device ranges from 2GB to 4GB of RAM and from 16GB to 32GB solid state drive option. The laptop is on the heavy side as it weighs – 2.2kg and measures 393 x 256 x 24.2mm (which makes it rather bulky).

The Acer Chromebook 15 also features dual band MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI and a microSD card reader. There is also a built-in Webcam and two large speakers facing upwards on either side of the keyboard. It is typical for all Chromebook to run the Google Chrome OS so this is no different.

The Acer Chromebook 15 would be available in different configuration options – either a 2GB or 4GB of RAM or 16GB or 32GB SSD option. Different regions may get different pricing options and specifications but pricing in the US starts from $250 (and up).

Acer is also updating its chromebook 13 line with touchscreen display. The Acer Chromebook was the first chromebook powered by the NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor. The chromebook would stay exactly the same in terms of specification with the only addition being the touchscreen display. Pricing in the US starts from $329.99 starting this month.
