Boss Phone: 7-inch Full HD Display, Android 5.0 Lollipop, Tor, 3000mAh battery

These times when users are starting to differentiate between a smartphone – the phablet and a tablet. Companies like BLU with its 7-inch display sized Studio 7.0 so called smartphone when in essence it qualifies for a tablet. The BLU Studio 7.0 is the world’s first 7-nch smartphone.

Another company has followed suit with a new 7-inch display sized smartphone called the Boss Phone. The smartphone is currently available on crowdfunding site, Indiegogo and is called the first ‘World first 7-inch Dual SIM Tor Phone’.

Briggs & Spriggs, Inc. is the company behind the Boss Phone and it is said to run on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. The tablet smartphone supports Dual SIM functionality and comes with the Tor Software. (The Tor software is not new to me as I used to use them to bypass and enjoy free browsing in the wild old days.) According to the creators the Tor is a

free software that enables online anonymity and, it “provides elite level protection against hackers, malicious third parties, and private data collection by corporations.”

The Boss Phone features a 7-inch 1080 x 1920 pixels display, powered by an octa-core Mediatek processor, 4G LTE connectivity, Dual SIM functionality, Tor Software, 16GB space of internal storage, 2MP front camera, 8MP rear camera and a 3000mAh battery capacity.

Assuming the set threshold set by the company ($150,000) is made on or before March 2 then it should start shipping by October. The first 50 backers would get the Boss Phone for as low as $275; while it could rise up to $350 for those who embark on the funding late.

You can’t help but wonder if the 7-inch display sized Dual SIM Tor smartphone would make you feel like a boss anyway.
