Microsoft announces entry level WP 8.1 Lumia 435 and Lumia 435 Dual SIM smartphones for €70

Microsoft has announced new entry level Windows Phone handset – the Lumia 435 and Lumia 435 Dual SIM which would replace the Microsoft Lumia 530 as the cheapest Lumia handset around. The Microsoft Lumia 435 (Lumia 435 Dual SIM inclusive) would run on Windows Phone 8.1 and the Lumia Denim update.

Both the Microsoft Lumia 435 and the Microsoft Lumia 435 have basically the same specs with the latter coming with Dual SIM and former with only a Single SIM option.

The Microsoft Lumia 435 features a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) WVGA LCD display, a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm snapdragon 200 processor with 1GB of RAM, 8GB space of internal storage, a microSD card slot which supports up to 128GB and up to 30GB free of OneDrive storage.

Other features includes – a front facing VGA camera, rear facing 2MP fixedfocus Lumia camera, and backed by a 1560mAh battery. The Lumia 435 would come pre-installed with Microsoft Outlook, OneNote, Office suite (Word, Excel & Powerpoint) and Cortana in select markets. Connectivity options on the device includes – 3G (up to 42.2Mbps downlink time), A-GPS and GLONASS.

The Microsoft Lumia 435 and Lumia 435 Dual SIM would be available for €69 (before tax and subsidies) and they would start rolling out in February in select countries in Europe, Asia-Pacific, India, Middle East and Africa.

With Africa on the list the Lumia 435 and it’s Dual SIM counterpart would likely cost around N15,000 to N17,000 in Naira. White, Black, Bright Green and Bright Orange are the available colour options.
