Jiayu S3: 5.5-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, 13MP Sony sensor and Octa-core processor

Most Chinese handset manufacturers make flagship level smartphones and sells them very cheap. We have seen the trend go round from Xiaomi to Meizu, Huawei and OnePlus. While the aforementioned brand names are prominent, there are also some lesser brands in the market with almost the same offering from these companies – flagship smartphone + very cheap price.

The Jiayu S3 is one of those devices which pops up from China with capable specs sheets. It has a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD LTPS display, with 2Gb/3GB RAM option, 16GB space of internal storage and a microSD slot for expansion.

Under the hood is the 64-bit Octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor (Eight ARM-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz) with a dual- core Mali-T760 GPU with support for OpenGL ES 3.0. The Jiayu S3 sports a 13MP 5-Element Sony IMX214 camera with wide, f/2.0 aperture and a dual LED flash and a 5MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture made by Samsung.

It comes LTE Enabled, supports GPS, Dual SIM functionality, runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS and is backed by a 3000mAh battery which could last up to 2 days of usage. 

Depending on the version of the Jiayu S3 you want – there is a main version with 2GB of RAM which costs CNY 899 ($146) and a more advanced version with 3GB of RAM which costs CNY 999 ($162). It has already been available for pre-order since December 2015 and it is slated to ship this January.
