The Microsoft #TileArt app is the latest app made by Ricc Webb (which surprisingly works at Microsoft as Mischief Maker); the app lets you customise your Windows Phone home screen and lock screen.
The app which works with Windows Phone 8.1 lets you create custom tile layouts with either your personal design or available ones from the #TileArt app gallery within the app. Users make use of transparent PNG files and it is easy to share one’s creation with friends.
‘Live Tiles’ is a unique feature to Lumia devices; each tile represents an app and it updates automatically. It is located on the homescreen; can be easily repositioned or restyled to preferred choice.
Commenting on the launch, Ricc Webb, Mischief Maker, Microsoft Mobile;

The #TileArt app was created to bring amazing themes and customization tools to all Lumia owners. We’re looking for bold, intelligent and exciting designs that completely transform what Lumia phones could look like. Anything goes, stylistically – from paint, pencil and comic book art through to tattoo designs and cardboard cut outs.”
To celebrate the launch of the #TileArt app, Microsoft has announced a contest which simply needs creative people to come up with original set of art for the #TileArt gallery. The ten finalists would all recieve the Lumia 930 each and the final four finalists would get $1500, have their winning portfolio featured in the #TileArt app gallery and the Microsoft Surface Pro 3.
