Some couple of weeks ago, details popped up about the Xiaomi Redmi 2 being given a bump in specs – in the RAM and Storage aspect. The company has finally confirmed the existence of the device and it would go on sale with the name – ‘Xiaomi Redmi 2 Enhanced Edition’.
The Xiaomi Redmi 2 Enhanced Edition comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage as against the 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage on the original Redmi 2.
Asides the change in RAM and storage, the specs remain the same: it sports a 4.7-inch (720 x 1280 pixels) HD display, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU, a microSD card slot, 8MP/2MP rear and main cameras, Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS with MIUI 6.0 on top and a 2200mAh battery.
It is expected to go on sale this month during the Company’s Spring Festival (between February 13 and February 25) ahead of the Chinese New Year for CNY 799 (around $128).
