Samsung has already announced the midrange Galaxy Xcover 3 smartphone and a rugged feature phone was said to have been announced alongside the smartphone. This rugged feature phone is the Samsung B550 Xcover 3.
The Xcover range of device are known for their ruggedity at a cheaper price unlike the Galaxy Active range which provides ruggedity at a premium price.
The Samsung B550 Xcover 3 features a 2.4-inch display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels (QVGA) display, powered by a SC7703A processors with 128MB RAM and 128MB space of internal storage. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for expansion.
The B550 Xcover 3 has a rear facing 3MP main camera, FM Radio, Bluetooth, GSM connectivity (up to HSDPA) and is backed by a 1300mAh battery which is expected to last very long due to the nature of the device.
The feature phone has a rugged body look and is IP67 certified for dust and water protection. The Samsung B550 Xcover 3 would join the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 in the Xcover range and it is likely more devices join the range in the nearest future.
It is expected to cost around €99 and would debut in coming weeks.
