Finally, the LG G3 has been officially launched in an event in London and New York on Tuesday. Although, the G3 was just officially released 99% of all the device information and features had already been spotted through numerous leaks before the official announcement.
Most of us would have thought we had seen it all about the LG G3 but the showed they had some new features up their sleeves with the upcoming flagship smartphone.
LG G3 with 5.5-inch QHD display, 13MP Laser AF camera and Android 4.4 Kit Kat
HARDWARE
The LG G3 features a 5.5-inch True HD-IPS+ LCD display with a QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, a pixel density of 534 pixels. The G3 is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Krait 400 Snapdragon 801 (MSM8975AC) processor with Adreno 330 GPU. There are two versions of the LG G3, one version features 2GB of RAM & 16GB of inbuilt storage while the other version features 3GB of RAM & 32GB of inbuilt storage. Both versions however supports up to 128GB of storage via micro SD support.
The G3 features a 13MP rear camera with OIS, all laser auto focus and dual LED flash. There is also a 2MP front facing camera with bigger pixels, a perfect viewing angle of 77 degrees for selfies and brighter lens. Connectivity option on the LG G3 includes Bluetooth, NFC, IR Blaster, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, SlimPort, A-GPS/Glonass, USB 2.0
DESIGN
The LG G3 measures 146.3mm x 74.7mm x 8.9mm and weighs 149g. The smartphone was able to keep its weight in check due to its polycarbonate plastic body with a finish close to that a metal surface. Disappointedly, the G3 is not water proof but its scratch resistant and keeps fingerprints away.
There is a 1W audio speaker at its rear with a boost mode which ups it power to 1.5W. The volume control and Power/Lock are rear mounted and both has been refined better than the one on the LG G2. The LG G3 is powered by a removable 3000mAh battery, there is also an optional wireless charging support with a different back panel.
SOFTWARE
The LG G3 runs on Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat OS with LG’s Optimus UI skin on top. The Optimus UI has completely been redesigned tons of new features like the Smart Notice, Smart Keyboard – custom keyboard with gesture control, LG Smart Notice, Content Knock, Quick Circle, LG Knock On and LG Knock Code.
The Smart Notice feature gives notification on location, activities user are doing and phone status. The LG Knock Code feature is basedon the earlier Knock On feature which allow users
AVAILABILITY
The LG G3 wouldbe available in five different colour variants – Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Moon Violet and Burgundy Red. Global availability and pricing of the device has not been officially announced.
