Red Pepper Note phablet with Octa-core MT6752 SoC and Kitkat for $112 in China

Beidou owns the ‘Red Pepper’ and the ‘Little Pepper’ brands; some days we gave information about the Little Pepper 7 smartphone which is expected to sport a massive 20MP front camera and is said to be in the works. The company has decided to announce the Red Pepper Note Phablet which bring upper mid-range specs for a price which normally comes with entry-level devices (if that’s not good news, I don’t know what is).

Moving to the specs – the Red Pepper Note features a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS Display, powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor with 2GB of DDR2 RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is no word if there is a microSD card slot on-board. The device makes use of a 13MP snapper as the main camera and a front facing 5MP camera on the front for selfies.

It supports Dual SIM functionality with Dual Standby, supports 4G LTE network bands and runs Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with some software enhancements ontop such as back gesture. Overall, asides the LTE support there are also standard connectivity support on-board (Bluetooth and Wi-Fi); its dimensions stands at 154.8 x 78.9 x 9.1mm, the weight is not listed and is backed by a 3100mAh battery.

The Red Pepper Note is available at a steal price of CNY 699 (around $112) in China. Orders for the device is on already on JD.Com in White, Black, Red, Green, Yellow, Blue and other options. Shipping starts April 7.
