Finnish Company, Jolla has announced it has partnered with Namibia Telecom and LexConsult to that will see the Jolla Phone available in Africa. It is another milestone for Jolla as Namibia will be the first country in Africa the Jolla Sailfish OS based smartphone would be available in.
Commenting on the launch, Mobile Chief Officer, Namibia Telecom, Armando Perny said;

We are very excited to be able to bring Jolla to Namibia. Together with TN Mobile’s 4G LTE network we can offer an unrivalled mobile experience to all Namibians.”

The Jolla Phone features an Ample 4.5-inch (960 X 540 pixels) qHd display, powered by a Dual-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 1GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. The display has 6-point muti-touch and Gorilla Glass 2 proctection. Other specs features of the Jolla Phone includes – 8MP AutoFocus rear camera with LED flash, front facing 2MP camera, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, microSD card slot, 4G LTE and 2100mAh battery.
The Jolla Phone is already available in TN Mobile Shops (offline and online) around Namibia (starting with Windhoek) for NAD 5,200 ($435). Those who purchase the smartphone can also customise their phone using Jolla’s The Other Half – The Other Half Aloe, The Other Half Black, The Other Half Lime, The Other Half Pink are all available for NAD 300 ($25).
