Midrange UMI Hammer with 4G LTE combines metal frame and diamond tough glass body

A new fairly rugged smartphone than the average with 4G LTE on-board, has surfaced out of China; we are talking about the UMI Hammer. UMI is one of the lesser-known Chinese brands but at least it is still known.

The UMI Hammer is in the spotlight due to its body build keeping a beautiful outlook but made of touch materials. The device is said to have a metal case which makes it resilient to rough contact and shock. Asides the metal frame, it has a ‘Diamond Tough’ protected glass on the side which sums up all the toughness. 

Moving to the specs, the UMI Hammer is no different with most nowadays midrange devices we have encountered. it features a 5-inch (1280 X 720 pixels) HD display, powered by a quad core MediaTek MT6732 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. On the rear is a 13MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 3.2MP camera.

Connectivity options on the device includes the standard – Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n as well as 4G LTE  and HotKnot connectivity is present to perform the NFC-like functions. It measures 7.9mm thick, runs on Android 4.4 kitkat OS and is backed by a 2200mAh battery. The UMI Hammer is expected to be sold for a price equivalent to around $150 in White and Black colour options.
