As expected the specifications of the Lava Iris X1 Atom aligns with its price tag. It sports a 4-inch (800 X 480 pixels) WVGA display, powered by a 1.5GHz Quad-core processor paired with 512MB RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. There is a microSD card slot available for internal storage expansion up to 32GB.

The main camera is a 5MP PureCel camera with LED flash and a not-so selfie front facing 0.3MP (VGA) camera for video chats. Connectivity options on the device includes – 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G. The device runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS but it has been promised an upgrade to Android Lollipop OS with the timeline unknown. A 1750mAh battery powers the device and is expected to last some hours of usage.

Like most made for Indian smartphones – it supports Dual SIM functionality, 3.5mm Audio Jack and FM Radio. It also has some proprietary OS features such as – Double Tap (used in waking up the device); Smart View (let’s users rotate images in the gallery using two fingers); Smart Swipe and more.
