Gionee Elife S8 (Gionee GN-9008) spotted on GFXBench

An upcoming Gionee smartphone has been spotted on benchmark website, GFXBench with the codename Gionee GN-9008. The device is said to be the Gionee Elife S8 which could be said to be said to be Gionee Elife S7 (Gionee GN-9006) successor.

According to the Benchmark listing, The Gionee Elife S8 (GN-9008) features a 4.6-inch (1440 X 2560 pixels) Quad HD display with a massive pixel density over 600 pixel per inch (639ppi to be exact). This would rival the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge which both currently have 577ppi. Samsung is reported to be working on UHD display for the Galaxy Note 5 which could have pixels up to 748ppi and Sharp recently announced a 5.5-inch QHD display with 806ppi due for 2016. 

The device would be powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor clocked at 1.9GHz with Imagination Technologies PowerVR Rogue G6300, 3GB of RAM, 32GB space of internal storage (26GB space user usable) and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

Handling photography on the device is a 24MP main camera with usual camera add-ons and a front facing 8MP camera. Both camera record 4K UHD videos. The device will come with some sensor and connectivity options such as WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, Proximity, gyroscope, Accelerometer, NFC, compass and Light sensor. 

The company is also working on the Gionee Elife E8 which is said to arrive at some point this year, the device is said to be an incremental update with a different approach in design and compete with the best. We would keep an eye out for both upcoming Gionee smartphones.
