Blackberry acquires secure file sharing company WatchDox

Blackberry has announced it has acquired secure file sharing company WatchDox. The acquisition follows the purchase of SecuSmart last year by BlackBerry; which would see the company offer mobile security offering to corporate customers and government .

WatchDox is a leading data security company that provides the most secure content collaboration and enterprise file-sync and-share (EFSS) solutions. WatchDox is currently has its headquarters in Palo Alto, California and has R&D facilities in Petah Tikva, Isreal. The company currently has different clients in different industry sectors which includes – Law, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Financial services, Media and Government. 

The WatchDox technology would be integrated into Blackberry’s Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) portfolio and would be available on BES 12, a multi OS EMM solution. It would also extends Blackberry’s commitment to connect employees and help share corporate information across multiple OS platforms.
