The upcoming Samsung smartwatch which is known internally as Project Orbis or just Orbis is no stranger to the rumour mills. The smartwatch which is confirmed to be called the Gear A; unlike any other smartwatch from the company, it would sport a Circular display and the South Korean company has indirectly confirmed it on its official blog.
Samsung has announced its would release the Software Development Kit (SDK) for the next-gen Gear smartwatch before the launch and teased an accompanying image of a circular display watch. The image also shows the company already has apps like CNN, Yelp, Baido, Apposter and FidMe on ground for the watch.
Orbis (Samsung Gear A) would be the company’s seventh generation Gear Watch. The SDK Kit is announced earlier to lure developers to make apps for the products and have them on ground before the launch (does this confirm the watch will run Tizen OS?). Interested developers are asked to submit applications at the Samsung Developer’s Website, from there they will be contacted by Samsung via email.

Now that Samsung Gear A (Orbis) is confirmed, there is still no word on when the watch would be announced. Some of the tipped specs of the watch includes – it runs Tizen OS; there would be two variants – one with Bluetooth connectivity and the other with 3G connectivity and voice calling; Wireless Charging, Wi-Fi, rotating Bezel ring, and crown shaped Power button.
