HTC and Japan look to continue their Butterfly love affair; the company launches the Butterfly series of smartphone for the country alone. A certain device with the codename – J Butterfly HTV31) believed to be the HTC Butterfly 3 has been spotted on benchmark website, CompuBench.
The HTC Butterfly 3 earlier believed to have a 5.2-inch display is listed here as a 5.1-inch display. The resolution stays the same at 2560 x 1440 pixels with a pixel density of around 576ppi. Under the hood it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
There is 32GB space of internal storage and a microSD card slot is believed to be on-board to increase storage up to 128GB. The Butterfly 3 packs a mouth watering 13MP front camera which can record 4K videos. Meanwhile the main camera is listed as 20MP sensor (likely made by Toshiba).
The device is said to come with IPxx rating for Dust and Waterproof; and runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS. It still unknown if the Taiwanese company would embrace a plastic body or it would sport a metal body.
HTC is expected to release the smartphone towards the end of May. It is unlikely the smartphone makes it out of Japan, the most it can get is other Asian markets.
