Leaks News OS and Softwares

Windows 10 would be the last Windows Version

Microsoft has announced that Windows 10 would be the last Windows Version. The company made this disclosure at the Microsoft’s Ignite conference which took place this week.

According to a Microsoft executive and Developer Evangelist, Jerry Nixon said:

“Right now we’re releasing Windows 10, and because Windows 10 is the last version of Windows, we’re all still working on Windows 10.”

This means that Windows 10 would be the epitome of Windows OS.

Microsoft decided on moving to Windows 10 straight when most people were reportedly expecting the Windows 9. This isn’t coincidental as the company has been working on new OS almost at the same time as the Windows 8.1. Microsoft is expected to turn the Windows 10 OS into a service which would see it continually recieve updates and there won’t be any major versions of Windows in the nearest future.

The new OS is designed in a modular form which means different parts can be upgraded with affecting the other and this is what is being expected of the company at this stage. After debuting in the summer, the next major improvement to the OS is around 2016 and it has been dubbed ‘Windows Redstone’.

If the company achieves it’s aim of pushing Windows 10 to most of its devices, except some updates and improvements, there won’t be major changes to the Windows 10 OS and this would see everybody upgrade to Windows with the model number attached with less importance. However, one doesn’t rule anything out in these sector as in some years time and there is a Windows 11 or Windows 12, we wouldn’t be too surprised.
