Coolpad Tiptop Pro with bezel-less display and fingerprint sensor costs $160

Coolpad has announced the Tiptop Pro phablet; a device which comes with a fingerprint sensor and is priced at an affordable rate. At $160 (CNY 1999), the Coolpad Tiptop Pro is already available in China and was reportedly expected to be called the Coolpad Tiptop 2.

The main attraction of the Coolpad Tiptop Pro phablet is its fingerprint sensor which is placed below the rear camera on the back and has a bezel-less (edge-to-edge) display. There are three capacitive buttons on the homescreen (below the display) which serves the purpose of recent apps, home and back.

The device features a 5.5-inch (1920  x 1080 pixels) Full HD display and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage. There should be a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

On the rear, there is a 13MP f/2.0 camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies et video chats. It supports 4G LTE connectivity, supports Dual SIM functionality, measures 5.3mm thick and runs on a customised version of Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS.

Coolpad had also announced a partnership with Qihoo 360 to form a new company called QiKU; also the company has also joined other Chinese smartphone makers making moves to strengthen their presence felt in India (outside China).
