HTC has another upcoming smartphone in the works, the device simply known as the HTC M9e is said to be the plastic variant of the flagship smartphone. The final name is expected to be – HTC One ME9 and it is expected to launch in India.
The HTC M9e (One ME9/Hima_Ace) has passed through TENAA certification in China and is looking like a more affordable version of the HTC One M9+. The two most notable changes are – the body build from metal to polycarbonate plastic and the Duo camera setup has been replaced with a single 20MP camera.
Asides that, the specs remain the same – 5.2-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) QHD display, powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 MT6795 processor clocked at 2.2GHz paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB space of internal storage. On the rear is still the same 20MP Toshiba-made camera and the front camera is the 4MP Ultrapixel camera.
The rest of the specs includes – Bluetooth 4.1, Fingerprint scanner, BoomSound speakers, microSD card slot and Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7.0 UI ontop.
It is expected to be available in July in Classic Rose Gold, Gold Sepia and Meteor Gray colour options for a price earmarked around RMB 3500 (~$563). It is unlikely that the device would make it out of Asia, as only Hong Kong, Taiwan, and India are confirmed for now.
