HTC confirmed some weeks ago, that it was looking at the mid-level and entry-level tablets. An entry-level tablet from the company has been spotted on India’s public import-export online database, Zauba; units of the the tablet simply known as HTC H7 has been sent to India for R&D.

The listing reveals that the HTC H7 tablet will sport a 7-inch touchscreen display, powered by a quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. The tablet would also bring Dual SIM support which is very rare on tablets, especially entry-level ones. It is also tipped to run on nothing less than Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box.

The import listing has the price pegged at Rs 9,565 ($150) which should not stray from the final pricing, a sub $200 price tag is heavily tipped. HTC had not been active in the tablet market until Google collaborated with the company to launch the Google Nexus 9 tablet. The last tablet from the company was the not so successful HTC Flyer (released back in 2011).

There is no word on when the HTC H7 tablet would be announced or released, however the launch of the slate is expected to be around the corner considering the units are already available for testing.
