ASUS has officially announced the camera + selfie centric smartphone – the ASUS Zenfone Selfie at the Computex 2015 event in Taipei, Taiwan. The main attraction to the device is its front facing 13MP camera; pricing and availability details are yet to be communicated.
The phablet sized ASUS Zenfone Selfie comes with a 13MP front and rear cameras with Toshiba Sensor; both camera feature Laset Autofocus and Dual Tone Flash . The main camera has f/2.0 apeture and the front camera has f/2.2 aperture and 88-degree wide angle lens for Group selfies (Groufies).
The Asus Zenfone Selfie takes its design cue from the Zenfone 2 with its curved body, it’s volume buttons are placed on the rear and the power button at the top. It Is expected to be available in seven different colour options including Pink, White, Blue and Red. There is an optional swing attachment which acts as a kickstand and adjusts the selfie angle.
The specs are almost the same as the Asus Zenfone 2; it sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass 4 Protection, powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB or 4GB of RAM and 16, 32GB or 64GB space of internal storage. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop Os with the company’s Zen UI ontop.
