More specs and features of the LG G Watch surfaced online ahead of the official launch. Back in March when the G Watch was announced, it was given a Q2 release date and would also be the first device to run on Google’s Android Wear OS for wearables.
The full specs of the device coupled with already available informations confirms what we know about the device. The LG G Watch is expected to feature a 1.65-inch 280 x 280 pixel resolution display with 240ppi pixel density, Snapdrgon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage. The device is expected to measure 37.9 x 46.5 x 9.95 mm, weighs 61g – which makes it slightly wider, shorter and lighter than Samsung’s Gear 2 smartwatch.
The LG G Watch is expected to be powered by a 400mAh lithium polymer battery which will offer 36 hours of standby time, charges via micro USB port and gets fully charged in 2 hours. It is also expected to feature much sensors. Which includes tilt, ambient and pedometer. Notifications would be synced via a Bluetooth 40 L.E and is compatible with most Android smartphone around.
According to sources the LG G Watch will be available on sale the same the day the LG G3 hit the stores and a rumored price tag of $169.99 (around N28,000 to N30,000 in Naira) has also been placed on the G Watch.
The LG G Watch is the first device running on the Android Wear OS; as such would be used as a reference design at the Google I/O conference, which is expected to place later this month in San Francisco. The LG G Watch alongside the Motorola Moto 360 will debut at the conference, the G Watch is also touted to be handed out to the attendees of the event.
