French based manufacturers, Archos took the wraps off two budget based Android 5.1 Lollipop smartphones earlier today – the Archos 50 Helium Plus and the Archos 55 Helium Plus Both smartphones would sell for $109 USD and $139 USD respectively starting next month.
The Archos 50 Helium Plus (50 Helium+) has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 293ppi and is backed by a
removable 2000mAh battery while the Archos 55 Helium Plus (55 Helium+) sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with the same resolution with a pixel density of 267ppi and is backed by a removable 2400mAh battery.
Both smartphones as expected share the rest of the specs together – powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6735P SoC which has a 1GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of Internal storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 64GB) and the 55 Helium+ comes with a free 16GB microSD card in its retail box.
On the rear there is a 13MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies. Connectivity option on the devices includes – 2G/3G/4G LTE (LTE Cat. 4) networks, GPS with AGPS, microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. Both smartphones supports Dual SIM functionality and run Android 5.1 Lollipop OS from the box.
