German Automaker, Audi showcased the 2016 Audi Q7 SUV with the Audi Tablet in it at the CES Asia 2015 in Shanghai. The SUV is expected to be available in December with Canadian Retailers the first to get their hands on it and it is not only lighter at 317 kilograms, it is also safer and slimmer than its predecessor.
The Audi Tablet itself sports a 10.1-inch display, powered by NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. It has a smash proof display which makes it more durable than glass-surfaced iPad being used for similar purpose.
The Dockable Audi Tablet is powered by Google owned Android OS and proprietary Audi MMI Application Programming Interface. The tablet is designed to connect to the car’s built-in infotainment and navigation system. It can also work outside the car as a standalone tablet.
The tablet has NFC connectivity which let’s the occupants of the car transfer information and entertainment to and from from their smartphones. Asides NFC, it also supports LTE connectivity which means it can also surf the net via cellular connectivity.
For those who like their music and entertainment to be top-notch, the car itself also comes with 3D sound system which could be either Bose or Bang&Olufsen which gives it a superior quality sound experience over its contemporaries.
