An upcoming Android tablet from Acer which is expected to go official soon has surfaced on benchmark website – GFXBench. Spotted under the moniker – Acer A6201, the slate sports an 8-inch touchscreen display with 1920 x 1200 pixels (WUXGA) screen resolution and boots Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS.
Under the hood, the slate relies on an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 (4x Cortex-A53 @ 2.0GHz + 4x Cortex-A53 @ 2.0GHz) 64-bit processor clocked at 2.0GHz along with Adreno 506 GPU 2GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space, out of which either 23 GB or 24 GB is available to the user.
The Acer A6201 features a front facing 5MP camera and a rear facing 5MP AutoFocus camera with Flash. Both cameras record 1080p Full HD video. It also packs a Single SIM slot for cellular connectivity support (likely 4G LTE) but it would be an oversight to rule out a Wi-Fi only variant.
The last 8-inch tablet by Acer was the Predator 8 tablet which was released last year. The gaming focused slate had four front facing speakers, 32GB storage, optional Stylus pen, rear 5MP camera, Intel Atom X7 CherryTrail processor, tactile feedback (Predator TacSense) and sold for US$ 299 and CNY 2499 in the US and China respectively.
